Den (newspaper)

The ( День, German: The Day ) is a Ukrainian newspaper. It appears in a daily circulation of approximately 60,000 copies. The editorial office is in Kiev. The first issue was published on 11 September 1996 to Ukrainian. Since January 1997, the journal is published five times a week ( Mon-Fri ), now there is also a Russian-language version. Since 1998, every Thursday will be launched and the English-language edition The Day ( 7000 copies). The claims to be the only newspaper in the CIS region, which appears in three languages.

The newspaper provides information and analysis on the daily happenings in politics, society and culture, since 2004 there are also economic affairs. The newspaper is published in broadsheet format to 8 pages, Friday edition of 24

Since 1999, the editorial staff holds an annual photo contest with the subsequent exhibition of the best works in the largest cities of the country.

The newspaper is also known for a series of books "Library of the newspaper ." The books are compilations of journalistic research and essays on given topics. So far, two such anthologies have been published: Ukraine Corporation Incognita - detection and processing of the "white spots" of Ukrainian history (1997-2002) and " Two Ruthenia " - processing of complex Russian-Ukrainian relationship, phobias and prejudices of the two peoples.

The newspaper is said to be close to the ex - KGB general and former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yevhen Marchuk.
