Dendrelaphis

Dotted Bronze Snake ( Dendrelaphis punctulata )

The bronze snakes ( Dendrelaphis ) are a genus of diurnal, arboreal snakes. They colonize primary forests and farmland in South Asia, Indonesia and Australia. As a food are mainly amphibians and lizards. All species are oviparous.

Features

Bronze snakes are medium large, very slender snakes. The elongated head has large eyes with round pupil and is clearly distinct from the neck. In the middle of the body, they have 13 to 15 oblique rows of imbricated scales. The ventral scales have laterally keels and are notched. The Subcaudalschilde also have keels and are, as the anal shield divided.
