Dendrometry

The Dendrometrie (by ancient Greek. Δένδρον, dendron = " tree ", μέτρον metron " measure, knife " ) is the measurement of trees. It is used in forestry, gardening and landscaping as well as in botanical research and has documented depending on the application the goal of the state and the change of the growth of individual trees and tree populations.

Some of the measurements, which includes the Dendrometrie are

  • Thickness, height, volume and mass of a tree
  • Age of a tree
  • Average growth performance of Forst and deviation of individual trees
