Denis Horgan

Denis Horgan ( born May 18, 1871 in Fermoyle, County Cork, † June 2, 1922 in Crookstown, County Cork) was an Irish shot putter.

13 times he was British champion ( 1893-1899, 1904, 1905, 1908-1910, 1912) and one U.S. champion ( 1900).

In his only part in the Olympics, he won in London in 1908, starting in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, with 13.62 m bronze medal behind Americans Ralph Rose ( 14.21 m ) and before his compatriot John Garrels ( 13.18 m).
