Denys de La Patellière

Denys de La Patellière ( civil Denys de Dubois de La Patellière; born March 8, 1921 in Nantes, † July 21, 2013 in Dinard) was a French film director and screenwriter.

Career

After attending film school and working at the newsreel " Actualités francaises " Denys de la Patellière worked as an assistant to Georges Lampin. He turned especially dramas ( only six films with Jean Gabin ). Comedies, thrillers, war dramas (Taxi to Tobruk ) and epics ( In the Realm of Kublai Khan with Horst Buchholz) were exceptions. His last feature film was the celibacy and Resistance drama The Abbé in 1973 and the love with Robert Hossein and Claude Jade. Since then, Denys de la Patellière worked for television ( and Others 1979 The Count of Monte Cristo with Jacques Weber).
