Department of Defence (Australia)

The Department of Defence ( German Ministry of Defense ) is an Australian Government Agency based in Canberra ( Russell Offices and Campbell Park ⊙ ⊙ -35.29745149.15201 -35.281584149.171323 ). It is part of the Australian Defence Organisation and is responsible for the military defense. It has 65 647 employees.

The division of the Ministry to the Australian Defence Force heard (Australian Verteidugungsstreitkraft ) and the Department of Defence Intelligence and Security Group (Intelligence and Security Group of the Defense Ministry ) with the three intelligence agencies:

  • Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Agency ( AGO, formerly DIGO )
  • Australian Signals Directorate (ASD, formerly DSD), an intelligence agency for electronic reconnaissance and information security
  • Defence Intelligence Organisation ( DIO ), a foreign intelligence

And the fourth Agency

  • Defence Security Authority ( DSA), the security services for the Ministry provides.
