Deportivo Español

Club Social, Deportivo y Cultural Español (until 2003 Club Deportivo Español) is an Argentine football club based in Buenos Aires, the capital of the country. The club was founded in 1956 and plays its home matches at the Estadio Nueva España. Currently plays Deportivo Español in the Primera B Metropolitana, the third Argentine league.

History

Deportivo Español was founded on 12 October 1956 under the name Club Deportivo Español Argentina's capital Buenos Aires. The founding date was chosen in memory of the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus on October 12, 1492 derived from this historical fact is also the name of the club, since Columbus sailed for the Spanish crown and the area that is now Argentina, long time under Spanish rule stood.
