Depressive Age

Depressive Age are a German thrash metal band from Berlin.

Band History

The origins of the band lie in the GDR, but only after the fall of the Wall in Berlin became known. Early 1990 they played on their debut album First depression is a form of thrash metal, which contained progressive rock and doom metal influences. Characteristic of this were the dark guitar riffs and clear vocals of front husband Jan Lubitzki. As a songwriter acted Jochen Klemp.

Using Symbols for the blue times the band performed significantly away from the thrash. On Electric Scum experimented with different styles, many samples and different rhythms, but also catchy and melodic song structures that made the name Depressive Age inappropriate, so that one finally called D-Age.

After this album, the band disappeared into oblivion. Meanwhile, in January Lubitzki has formed a new force that acts thorn under the name Jan.

Drummer Norri plays since 2000 with great success in the three related medieval bands dancing feet, Corvus Corax Cantus and Buranus.
