The Saviour on the island is a German comedy series of two seasons with a total of fourteen episodes, which was produced in 2004 and 2005 by the RTL.

Action

The Catholic priest Karl -Heinz Erdmann ( Jürgen von der Lippe) is demoted by his bishop ( Rainer Basedow ) on the North Sea island of Soonderney and gets there in almost every episode with the local mayor Frieder Fredericksen ( Frank - Leo Schröder ) to each other, the responsibility for is that it has endured for years no priest long on the island.

Comments

• The series was clearly inspired by the Italian film adaptations of novels about Don Camillo Giovannino Guareschi, however, fell far short of expectations and the audience also got very bad reviews. For this reason, the series production was stopped after only two seasons.
• Jürgen von der Lippe already played a similar role in pastor gap in the movie Not ' with Leo ( 1994).
• The exterior shots were filmed on the North Sea island of Pellworm. The church is, however, in Beelitz- Kanin. It was formed in 1138 of fieldstone and is the oldest of the Mark Brandenburg
