Derek Grant (drummer)

Derek Grant (born 24 April 1977) is the current drummer of the Chicago-based American punk band Alkaline Trio, where he replaced Mike Felumlee 2003.

Grant previously played with bands such as The Suicide Machines, Telegraph, Gyga, Thoughts of Ionesco, Remainder, and many others. He also toured with Face to Face as a guitarist and replaced in some performances by the Vandals drummer Josh Freese thereof. Since he has joined bassist Dan Andriano 2003 and guitarist Matt Skiba in the Alkaline Trio, he also participates in the songwriting and is responsible for backing vocals.

Derek Grant is, like guitarist Matt Skiba also a member of the Church of Satan.

He lives in Indianapolis.
