Derek Roddy

Derek Roddy ( born August 28, 1972 in South Carolina) is an American metal drummer. He played with several bands such as Hate Eternal, Malevolent Creation, Nile, Divine Empire, Serpents Rise, Aurora Borealis and Council Of The Fallen. He is playing for its extremely high speed of drums and known for its diversity of genres that he plays. This includes not only metal but also genres like jazz, blues and rock.

As one of seven drummers, he was charged in October 2010 by the band Dream Theater to audition to find a replacement for Mike Portnoy, who left the band in September 2010. On the bonus DVD of the 2011 published A Dramatic Turn of Events of the film about the rehearsals and auditions is included.
