Derjon

The Gardena river (also called Dirsching, Italian Rio Gardena Ladin Derjon, in old documents also Dursan ) is 25.8 km and a catchment area of 199 km ², one of the larger tributaries of the Eisack. He drained the Val Gardena valley and flows at Ponte Gardena in the Eisack. The river is also used to generate electricity. Most important tributaries are the Langentalbach, Cislesbach and Anna Bach on the right side; the Ampezanbach and Jenderbach on the left side. In Waidbruck the A22 motorway and the Brenner railway line crossing the creek.
