Derrygonnelly

Derrygonnelly (Irish Doire Ó gConaíle ) is a community in Northern Ireland. It belongs to the county of Fermanagh and the District Fermanagh.

Derrygonnelly is located on Upper Lough Erne and near the border with the Republic of Ireland. The old market town lives primarily from livestock and dairy products, so that to this day dominates agriculture. Also significant is the long tradition of Irish folk music. So every year there is a music festival that is dedicated to the memory of the most famous son of the town, the 1986 deceased musicians Eddie Duffy, and are encouraged at the local music talent.

The population of the town was founded in 2001 with 594 persons identified the Census, of which 77.4 % were Catholic and 20.1 % Protestant.
