Derschen
Derschen is a municipality in the district of Old Churches ( Westerwald) in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Daaden.
Geography
Derschen lies at an altitude 400-450 meters above sea level. South of Derschen stems from the Derscher creek that flows near Steinches mill in the Daade. To the south lies the Friedewalder height, north of the derelict mountain and west of the mold Erich.
Neighboring towns of Derschen are Daaden in the north, and Mauden Emmerzhausen in the east, the south and Nisterberg Friedewald in the West.
History
The place Derschen was first mentioned in 1230 in documents, as a Konrad von Dersin occurs as Urkundszeuge in a litigation. Derschen belonged to the parish in the county of Sayn Daaden and since the 17th century zu Sayn- old churches.
In 1741 the " Old School " is built in the center of town. 1758 the south wing was added. 1808 is the place out of 51 worldwide.
From 1803 to Derschen belonged to the Principality of Nassau- Usingen, from 1806 to 1815 to the Duchy of Nassau. As a result of the decisions of the Congress of Vienna and a contract with Nassau, the area of the former county of Sayn- old churches in 1815 came to the Kingdom of Prussia. Under the Prussian administration Derschen was assigned to the mayor's office in the county Daaden old churches in the Region of Koblenz.
On March 27, 1945, the Americans reached the place. War damage had Derschen recorded no, it fell 34 men in the war.
Due to the mid-1960s started Rhineland-Palatinate administration reform Derschen heard on October 1, 1968, the community association at the same time the newly formed Daaden.

Parish council
The local council in Derschen consists of 16 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman location.
Culture and sights
Far beyond the city limits Derschen known is because of the nature reserve Derscher Geschwämm, one of the last high moorland in Rhineland- Palatinate. The Derscher Geschwämm are in the field of the training area Stegskopf.
On Daadebach the Steinchesmühle, whose origins lie before 1610 is. You should have briefly served as a shelter Schinderhannes.
