Derweze

Derweze, Turkmen Gate, also known as Darvaza, is a village in Turkmenistan. It is located in the middle of the Karakum desert, about 260 km north from Ashgabat. It has about 350 inhabitants. The area around Derweze is rich in natural gas. In an exploration of the burning crater of Derweze arose.
