Design of Systems on Silicon

Diseño de Sistemas en Silico SA, short DS2, a Spanish company based in Paterna, Valencia Province was developed which integrated circuits for carrier-current systems.

Integrated Circuits DS2 were used, among other things, BT, Telefonica, ITT, Alcatel and IBM for IPTV.

DS2 invented high-speed Powerline communication, thereby allowing the networking of multimedia and entertainment applications at home as well as broadband Internet access over power lines with high quality in homes, offices, houses in both urban and rural communities. In 2004, the first system for DS2 Powerline Communication with 200 Mbit / s before, in 2008 the world's first interoperable systems followed for 100, 200 and 400 Mbit / s

In 2005, DS2 founded with some customers the trading company Universal Powerline Association (UPA ) as a counterweight to the HomePlug Powerline Alliance.

The technology developed was established in August 2010, according to an insolvency proceeding and the subsequent dissolution of the company, taken over by the Marvell Technology Group.
