Dessalines

Dessalines on the map of Haiti

Dessalines is a town in the department of Artibonite in the north of Haiti. It was named after Jean -Jacques Dessalines, the first ruler of an independent Haiti.

The city is located on the street 112 at Riviere Estber around 80 kilometers north of the local Haitian capital Port -au -Prince at a height of 159 meters above sea level. In Dessalines 165 424 inhabitants. In 1986, we established the Claire Heureuse Hospital.
