Destination Games

NCsoft Austin is a US-based company, headquartered in Austin, Texas, the Massive (ly ) Multiplayer Online Role- Playing Games ( MMORPG) developed. It was founded in April 2000 under the name Destination Games, Inc. by Richard Garriott, Robert Garriott and Starr Long after Richard Garriott and Long, had left the company Origin Systems founded by Richard and Robert. Robert Garriott was in 1995 excreted in Origin. The name of destination ( dt: target ) is a clear allusion to Origin (German: origin). Richard Garriott and Starr Long had previously worked a leader in the development of Ultima Online.

On 17 May 2001 Richard Garriott announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the collaboration with the South Korean company NCsoft known. In Austin, then the American Headquarters of NCsoft was established and Robert Garriott became CEO CEO of NCsoft North America. Destination Games was involved in the adaptation of the Lineage series of NCsoft for the American market.
