Detlef Okrent

Detlef Okrent (* October 26, 1909, † 24 January 1983) was a German hockey player and SS judge.

Detlef Okrent played for the Rostock THC. The defender played his only international match in the German national hockey team at the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 against Denmark. As his teammates reached the final, Okrent also received the silver medal.

Detlef Okrent was a member of the NSDAP ( Mitgliedsnr. 5038061 ) and the SS ( SS number 120 075 ). In the SS he reached the rank of SS - Sturmbannführer of the Waffen- SS in April 1944. As SS Division Judge of the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich Okrent was entrusted with the investigation of the massacre at Oradour, the proceeding but inconclusive. After the war, Okrent has been variously heard as a witness, an indictment against him personally was not charged.
