Deutsch-Baltische Gesellschaft

The German -Baltic Society, headquartered in Darmstadt (formerly German -Baltic country team in the Federal Territory ) is an association of German Balts.

Founded in 1950 for the collection after the Second World War had moved to Germany compatriots, the federal-state team dedicated to their countries country teams and local groups in particular social tasks. They led in part continues the tasks of the Relief Committee of the Lutheran German Balts in the relief organization of the Evangelical Church in Germany. The tasks included a travel and visiting service for often scattered living compatriots, relief supplies, nursing care, recreational trips for children and pastoral care.

Today, there are contacts with the Baltic states of Estonia and Latvia, cultural, scientific and family history encounters in the foreground of the work. In the German -Baltic society, many organizations of the German Balts are represented on the Management Board.
