The German Journalists Association ( DJV ) - Union of Journalists eV is the largest journalists' organization in Europe, with headquarters in Berlin. It has around 38,000 members. The DJV is a member of the International Federation of Journalists ( IFJ ).
Self-presentation and activities
The DJV describes himself as a combination of union and professional association. He sees himself as both advocacy salaried and freelance journalists from all media. History
The club was founded in Berlin in 1949.
On November 24, 1971, the Charter of Munich was adopted. It lists ten journalistic duties and five rights.
The DJV has its seat since 2005 in Berlin. He has the number of members against the general trend since 1988 has more than doubled. In recent years it has declined again by his own admission.
On 11 September 2007 the German Association of Journalists Berlin announced ( a national association of the DJV ) due to accounting insolvency insolvency. Organization
There are 17 state associations, one in each province, as well as an additional association that emerged in 2008 from the Brandenburg Association of Journalists and the Association of Berlin journalists. The members of the DJV can do voluntary work in their districts and state associations, including the Bundesverband. Purpose there are numerous bodies available. Services
