DeWitt Bodeen

DeWitt Bodeen, even Dewitt Bodeen and De Witt Bodeen ( born July 25, 1908 in Fresno, California, United States, † March 12, 1988 in Woodland Hills, California ) was an American writer, stage and screenwriter for film and television.

Life

Bodeen had tried after his studies at UCLA in his early years as a stage actor and sometimes as a playwright. Of his works, it only managed Harvest of Years to Broadway in New York. The short-lived play was there January 12 to 26 in 1948 and brought it to a total of 16 performances.

His film career began in 1942, when the specialized producer Val Lewton horror movies Bodeen committed. DC Bodeens First Cat People was a resounding success, and Bodeen continued until 1944 his collaboration with the B- movie producer continued. After that he worked only sporadically for the cinema. His later successes include the gefühlige family movie mystery of the Mother and Billy Budd, an allegory about good and evil in the guise of a seafaring adventure and film. There Bodeen worked with Peter Ustinov. It was to be his last film work. Previously, in the 50 years, Bodeen had very limited to the authorship in television.

DeWitt Bodeen also has a number of books about personalities drawn from the film, including From Hollywood and More From Hollywood! For three years he was also at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In his later years he spent much time in the northeastern Spanish Cadaqués and now and then came to London to work for the local theater.
