Dez Dam

The Dec- Dam ( Persian سد دز ) is a large dam in Iran, which was produced in 1963 for the purpose of power generation, irrigation and flood control.

It is located on the River Dez ( an inflow of Abi ) 32 km above and 25 km north of the city of Dezful and 20 km north-east of Andimeschk in the Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran.

The concrete arch dam is 203 meters high, making it one of the highest in the world. But the altitude 207 m can be found. The dam cuts off a narrow valley.
