DFS 193

The DFS 193 was a planned experimental aircraft of the German Research Institute for Gliding (DFS ).

The aircraft was designed in 1936 by Professor Alexander Lippisch and the DFS designer Roth, both had quite different opinions regarding the interpretation. The plane was similar in basic structure of the Storch IX by Alexander Lippisch and the Gotha Go 147

The DFS 193 was a two-seat tailless experimental aircraft in high-wing design. In order for the military use of tailless aircraft should be investigated. It was there probably intended primarily for use as a Nahaufklärer where the sniper would have had an almost uninterrupted line of fire. As an engine Argus As 10 C was provided with 240 hp. A model was tested in 1936 in the wind tunnel of the AVA Göttingen, to build a prototype, there was no longer, however.
