Dharamvir Bharati

Dharamvir Bharati (Hindi धर्मवीर भारती; Dharmavīr Bharati; born December 25, 1926 in Allahabad, † September 4, 1997 in Mumbai) was Indian writer.

Dharamvir Bharati had great impact on the Hindi literature and is considered one of the most important poets and writers in Hindi, India. His novel " Gunahon ka Devtaa " became a classic.

From 1960 to 1987 he was editor of the Hindi weekly magazine Dharmayug in Mumbai. During this long period Dharmayug was the largest weekly magazine in Hindi.

For his literary work, he received many awards.
