DHL Fastest Lap Award

As part of the DHL Fastest Lap Award a season the DHL Fastest Lap Trophy is awarded since the 2007 Formula 1 season to the driver with most fastest laps.

History

Both 2007 and 2008 Kimi Raikkonen won with six or ten fastest laps. In the first year, his team-mate Felipe Massa also scored six fastest laps, both drove two second fastest laps, but Raikkonen scored three third-fastest laps more than Massa and won.

2009's both Sebastian Vettel and his teammate Mark Webber during the season three fastest laps, so the winner had to be determined using the second-fastest laps. Vettel scored three second-fastest laps; Webber, however, just one. This Vettel won.

In 2010 Fernando Alonso won the trophy five fastest laps, because he had more second fastest laps as Lewis Hamilton.
