Diane, Duchess of Württemberg

Diane Françoise Maria da Glória Duchess of Württemberg (b. d' Orléans, born March 24, 1940 in Petrópolis, Brazil ) is a German artist of French origin and the wife of Carl Duke of Württemberg, the current head of the House of Württemberg.

Life

Diane Duchess of Württemberg is the daughter of Henri d' Orléans from the house of Bourbon and Isabelle d' Orléans - Bragance.

Her artistic career began in 1954, when she became familiar with the fabric painting. Then she learned many other techniques: wood painting, screen printing, stucco and stained glass.

On 18 July 1960, she and Carl were married Duke of Württemberg at Castle Altshausen a civil ceremony, a church wedding took place on July 21, 1960 also held in Altshausen. From this marriage the sons Friedrich Eberhard, Philip and Michael and daughters Matilda and Fleur emerged. The family inhabited castle in Altshausen Altshausen.

After a disease-related work break from 1968 to 1971 about 80 pictures were taken annually in the years 1971 to 1980. At the beginning of the eighties, she turned to new techniques and devoted himself to the design in bronze and metal and had to learn for the welding.

Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions throughout the world. Diane Duchess of Württemberg is the founder of two foundations, the German Duchess Diane of Württemberg, Princess of France Foundation for Youth Care and Protection of monuments ( 1979) and the French Foundation Les Enfants de la Vie (1989 ) for projects for children in the slums of the Third World.

1999 took Diane Duchess of Württemberg a pilgrimage to the Spanish pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela. Since then she has supported projects for the expansion of an infrastructure for the pilgrimage as patroness.

In Media and aristocratic circles it is often addressed as "Your Royal Highness " ( HRH ), this is purely honorific without legal relevance.
