Diário da República

The Diário da República (DR ) is the official publication medium of the Portuguese Republic. The Diário da República has been published since 1976, after the entry into force of the new Constitution, under its current name, was previously called the medium Diário do Governo. It is bordered by the National Press, the Imprensa Nacional- Casa da Moeda, SA ( INCM ), printed and bound, the da República Electrónico is also responsible for keeping the publication on the Internet by the Diário. For its use a pdf reader is needed.

In the Diário da are República, in accordance with Article 119 of the Portuguese Constitution, concerning Portugal international conventions and their ratification, laws and decree-laws, decrees of the President, the resolutions of the Assembleia da República and the regional assemblies of Madeira and the Azores and decisions of the Constitutional Court and of the other courts published. Laws and the like are only valid after publication in the Diário da República. The Diário da República consists of two, formerly three series. Laws, decree-laws and court decisions are published in the first series, other decisions and public competition decisions in the second series.

Since July 1, 2006 is sufficient to final publication of a law the notice via the Internet, the printed version is only for some special customers, such as the National Archives, launched.
