Dicistroviridae

The Dicistroviridae are a family of RNA viruses that infect various species of insects. The Dicistroviridae infect among other Aphididae, flies, leafhoppers, bees, ants and silkworm.

Construction

Virion

Have a non-enveloped icosahedral Discistroviren capsid of about 30 nm in diameter with the Triangulationszahl pseudo- third The capsid is composed of four capsid proteins CP1 -4, of which CP1 -3 are located on the surface of the capsid and CP4 to the inside of the capsid.

Genome

Dicistroviren possess a genome of a single-stranded RNA molecule of positive polarity, which carries the viral protein VPg on the 5'-end and at the 3 ' end a poly -A tail. The name is derived from the dicistronic Dicistroviridae structure of the genome, they do not have two overlapping open reading frames. Some Dicistroviren were originally counted among the picornaviruses. Dicistroviren are counted in the picornavirus -like superfamily, which also includes the Comoviridae, Iflavirus, Picornaviridae, Potyviridae and Sequiviridae belong. This superfamily includes the order of the genes in the genome Hel ( helicase ) -Pro ( protease), RdRp ( RNA polymerase) and the second open reading frame CP1 CP2 CP3 CP4. Unlike most other members of the superfamily, the capsid proteins are located at the 3 ' end of the genome and only Dicistroviren and comoviruses have two open reading frames.

The Cripaviren each have an IRES in the 5 'end of the two open reading frames, which is used as an alternative translation start point. About a frameshifting occurs when cricket paralysis virus from the first open reading frame of the protein VP1a.

Proteins

From the genome of a polyprotein produced from each open reading frame that is cleaved by proteolysis, to its final ingredients.
