Dick Morley

Richard E. (Dick) Morley (* in Clinton, Massachusetts) is an American engineer in the field of electronics and computer technology. He is considered the father of the programmable logic controller.

In 1969 he presented a " Modicon 084 " before "solid -state sequential logic solver " (semiconductor -based sequential logic computer). He objected to the term " computer " because he looked this way endanger the acceptance. Programming was done graphically with a ladder diagram, a current- run plan similar representation.

Morley is the holder of several patents and author of technical books.
