Didier Quentin

Didier Quentin (born 23 December 1946 in Royan ) is a French politician. He is the National Assembly since 1993 deputy.

Quentin visited Royan to school and studied in Bordeaux and Paris, human and political sciences and law. He then attended the Ecole nationale d'administration, which he completed in 1974. After graduation, he worked as a diplomat. At first he was in the representation of France in New York at the United Nations operates. In the U.S., he was also Generalkonsular in Houston. Later, he was spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry and worked as a consultant for various ministers. By 1995, he was diplomatic adviser to Jacques Chirac, who was elected in the same year as president. In addition to his diplomatic activity Quentin was from 1989, member of the municipal council of Royan and moved in 1992 to the Regional Council of Poitou -Charentes region. On January 1, 1997, he was appointed Knight of the Legion of Honour. In the parliamentary elections the same year he was elected in the fifth constituency of the department of Charente -Maritime in the National Assembly. 2002, 2007 and 2012, he was re-elected. To this end, since 2008 he is mayor of Royan.
