The Abrafaxe - Under the Black Flag is a German animated film with the hero of the mosaic, the Abrafaxe in the lead role.

Content

Through discovered in the municipal museum magical golden bowl from the time of the Aztecs reach the Abrafaxe Abrax, Brabax and Califax in the Caribbean of the 18th century.

Here they learn the pretty female pirate Anne Bonny know - in the Abrax falls - the fearsome Caribbean pirate Captain Blackbeard, and the vain and silly Spanish fleet admiral Don Archibaldo and his wiser, talking parrot. The journey eventually leads to Tortuga, the pirate paradise which is ruled by Anne Bonny. Although Tortuga is an enclave of freedom, but by the evil deed of Blackbeard is Tortuga before the discovery by the Spaniards. The Abrafaxe do everything we can to prevent that. But somehow it all goes wrong, and suddenly Califax is gone. So there is still much to do for the three heroes - they must be brought together, save Tortuga and return to their own time.

The Abrafaxe - Under the Black Flag is the first movie with the figures of the East German cult comics mosaic. Previous attempts both the Digedags and the Abrafaxe for the screen or the television to film, are always failed relatively early.

In addition to a German version, an English language version was created for the international market. Internationally, the film reached a fairly wide circulation, especially in Eastern Europe and in Asia, the film was sold successfully.
