Die Amigos

The Amigos are a German -language music group in the field of popular hit song from the central Hessian Villingen.

The group

Founded in 1970 as a duo of Bernd Ulrich ( born December 2, 1950) and his older brother Karl -Heinz Ulrich ( born November 19, 1948), were the Amigos in the early days on mainly on events in various villages and towns. So it was possible to include them in 1986 by a Cologne businessman who had heard them at an event for the first time a CD. After initial setbacks and negative reactions to their demo recordings eventually reported the music companies Bellaphon in Frankfurt and Tyrolis from Austria and expressed interest in cooperating. In the latter two more productions to follow. After a stagnation in their development, the Amigos decided in the subsequent period, to confine itself to live performances. Encouraged by the huge demand of their fans for a new CD, the Amigos her own studio focused on.

Witold Piwonski accompanied the Amigos 15 years with their live performances on the keyboard. However, in 2000, he suffered a severe stroke, as a result, he was in a vegetative state and died in 2008. After an unsuccessful search for a replacement, there was a slight alteration of the formation. So the guitarist Karl -Heinz Ulrich played now Keyboard and Daniela Alfinito, the daughter of Bernd Ulrich, reinforced the Amigos as a singer.

2006 succeeded the Amigos, who have a solid fan base in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Canada, the final breakthrough when they occurred in Achim's hit parade and the title "Funny King " won, and finally at the end of the year in the overall standings Achim's Hit Parade: Who is musician's Emperor? won with a solid lead of 20 percentage points.

In January 2007, she appeared in the crown of folk music and their first DVD was released. The Amigos were nominated for the first time at the Echo 2007 in the category pop, but could not prevail against Andrea Berg. In the following years the Amigos were always among the nominees and eventually won at the Echo Awards in 2011 their first award in the category of Folk Music.

The album Weird Science in 2007 reached the 72nd place among the best-selling albums in Germany, the album " The Great successes " even landed on rank 37

During the year the Amigos received several Golden and Platinum records. " The great successes " received gold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and platinum in Germany and Austria. " Weird Science " and " Christmas at home " were each certified gold in Germany and Austria.

After she had appeared on the show in 2007 and 2008, the Amigos received in the years 2009, 2010 and 2012, the crown of folk music.
