Die Einigkeit

The agreement was a German weekly newspaper and the organ of the Free Association of German Trade Unions

The agreement came into existence when was taken at the first Congress of the locally organized unions in Germany in Hall of the decision, an organ surrendered. The newspaper should appear on a fortnightly basis, and you initially agreed on the name of solidarity. The editor was Gustav Kessler. A year later the newspaper was published weekly and was renamed Unity. Organ of locally organized and centralized by confidence men unions in Germany and with the change of name of the Association in FVdG in 1901 finally in Unity. After the death of Gustav Kessler was Fritz Kater 1904 Publisher of unity. Over the years, individual items were offensive, so that under the Criminal Code, some issues were banned.

In 1897 the unity of subscribers in 2757 and was able to support steadily increasing. 1900, the circulation was about 10,000 copies and by 1906 the unity of a peak of 13,500 copies sold. Due to a steady shrinkage of the members FVdG the circulation decreased in the sequence again.

1911 launched the FVdG a second weekly newspaper called The Pioneer, which appeared in an edition of about 4500 copies.

Both newspapers were banned during the First World War and could not appear. The last issue of unity was published on August 8, 1914.
