Die Fernfahrer

Truck drivers ( title of the DVD edition: The truck driver ) was a German television series in twelve episodes, which is not only a presentation of cinematic adventure also a portrait of everyday life of truck drivers in the 1960s.

It was produced by the South German Radio in black and white for the ARD and 1963-1967 in the first program aired on Sunday afternoons, four episodes beginning in 1963 and 1964 and in the fall of 1967. The length of the individual sequences varied greatly 30-62 minutes. Protagonists were Pit Krüger, Rudolf war, Monika Berg and Charlotte Schreiber -Just as guests were found, among other things Kurt Schmidtchen, Horst Naumann, Klaus Höhne, Edgar Hoppe, Gernot Duda, Sigurd Fitzek, Rolf Jahncke, Heinz Schimmelpfennig and Willy bread rye. But main characters were also the former trucks, especially the Bussing used in all episodes 8000, but also the time also widespread types of Mercedes -Benz, MAN and Magirus- Deutz.
