Die Son

The Son is a South African Afrikaans tabloid, which is aligned along the lines of British Tabloids entirely on small and large sensational news. The Son is the South African newspaper with the biggest increase in readers. In the Western Cape Province, it appears as day, in other provinces as a weekly newspaper. Editorial office is Cape Town.

The publisher Naspers began in 2003 after the great success of the English tabloid The Daily Sun in Western Cape, a sensational week in African Journal under the title " Kaapse Son " surrendered. Sales increased so rapidly that it was decided in the same year, expand sales throughout South Africa. In the first half of 2005, edition of the newspaper was estimated at 50,000, the Friday edition for the whole of South Africa was an average of 220,000 copies. The other Afrikaans daily newspapers ( also from the Naspers -Verlag), as the burgers, not or hardly suffer under the great growth of the Son
