The banished children of Eve is an Austrian music project that was founded in 1993 by Richard Lederer and Michael Gregor in Vienna. The name derives from a line of the Salve Regina.

Band History

In 1993 Richard Lederer, depressed about the results of his band to compose their own tracks. Shortly thereafter joined Michael Gregor ( Summoning ) to him and brought his own ideas into the individual songs. She then founded The banished children of Eve. Along with Nora El Shammah and Richards sister Julia Lederer, they recorded the vocals and mixed it afterwards to their compositions. After they had released two demos, they got a contract with the Austrian record label Witch Hunt Records. In March 1995, the first album was followed by The banished children of Eve, which was named after the band 's own.

After the first album had come on the market, Nora El Shammah left the band because she did not like their music. Shortly after leaving Michael Gregor this because he wanted to concentrate on his own band Summoning more.

After the great losses, contacted Richard Oliver Falk, member of the band world conflagration and founder of MOSrecords, and asked him for a record deal with his own label because he was unhappy with the marketing of the banished children of Eve in Witch Hunt Records.

1997 appeared the second album Come Heavy Sleep, which was classic and diverse. The lyrics, the band by Percy Bysshe Shelley, a British writer from the 19th century. After the album was put on the market, the contact between Oliver and Richard lost more and more, and Richard Lederer saw himself once more forced to change the label. He also won new support from the singer Tania Borsky who had to give his sister Julia.

Followed in 1999, the third album In Darkness Let Me Dwell, which The Spirit of Solitude only should initially hot, with Napalm Records. It contained less classical elements, which made the voice of Tania powerful sound. The lyrics were taken from writings as with Come Heavy Sleep by Percy Bysshe Shelley and the composer John Dowland.

Shortly after the release of the third album to singer Tania withdrew, and Richard was forced to look for a new singer. He first contacted the Turkish band Sadistic Spell, which he initially made ​​good results. But from time to time they lost interest in the project and broke it off.

Furthermore, in search of a suitable singer, Richard Lederer had in the meantime with on the album Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame by Summoning.

After several years of fruitless search for an accompaniment for his songs Richard found the Greek singer Christina Kroustali. After a short time she had learned all the songs from " The banished children of Eve " by heart, and the studio work for the fourth album Dusk And Void Became Alive could begin. Within 2 days the whole album was finished recorded and appeared on 3 November 2006, like its predecessor with Napalm Records.
