Diébougou

Diébougou is a city ( commune urbaine ) and at the same department in the Sud-Ouest region of the West African country of Burkina Faso. It is capital of the province Bougouriba and has 41 348 inhabitants.

Diébougou was founded about 1840 and closed 1897 a protectorate treaty with the French off. From the newly established military post was occupied, among other Bobo Dioulasso. 1903, the place had about 900 inhabitants.

Diébougou is the seat of the diocese Diébougou.
