Diego Alfredo Molero Bellavia

Diego Alfredo Molero Bellavia ( born January 12, 1960 in Santa Ana de Coro, Falcón ) is a Venezuelan politician and the current Minister of Defense of Venezuela. He was appointed by Hugo Chavez the end of October 2012 in this office.

Life

He was the 53th among 56 of his graduating class (1983). Molero worked in the security services of the Navy. Later he was commander of the Eastern region. He is seen as a stalwart of the Chávez government.

The opposition to Hugo Chavez has criticized the Minister for his statements. Molero explained for example in public in 2011, the Venezuelan army stand completely dedicated to the socialist state, which should be the only way for the achievement of national goals.

On December 23, 2012 Molero said the commander would be (meaning Chávez ) absent, the military already knew what to do, namely to follow the ideological path that they should have taken 14 years ago.
