Diego González Holguín

Fray Diego González Holguín (* around 1560 in Extremadura, Spain, † 1629 in Lima) was a Spanish Jesuit and areas addressing the Quechua language linguist in the Viceroyalty of Peru.

González came in 1581 as a missionary to Peru and studied for 25 years, the Quechua in Cusco. In 1607 he published in Lima, the Gramática y arte de la lengua general del Perú and a year later, the Vocabulario de la lengua general de todo el Peru, the first dictionary of the Quechua of Cusco. According to instructions issued by Fray Domingo de Santo Tomás works (grammar and dictionary ) for that time in the Lima area Quechua Spread it was the second great work for Quechua language.
