Diego León

Diego León Ayarza, called Diego León, ( born January 16, 1984 in Palencia ) is a Spanish football player. His position is as an attacking midfielder. Currently plays Diego León for the Greek first division AO Kerkyra.

Club career

The little Spaniard, affectionately known as " magic mouse " called, came in the winter of 2005 from Real Madrid B to Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga. He had been borrowed for one and a half years. Here he came in the second half of the season 2004/ 05 on ten missions, but missed a regular place. In the next season, he scored against 1 FC Nuremberg in the 88th minute after coming on for Bernd Korzynietz 86 minutes his first Bundesliga goal.

The Spaniard left the Arminia end of the season and returned to Real Madrid. This sold him to Grasshopper Zurich. The Grasshoppers he has since the summer of 2007 in a difficult position Hanspeter Latour, successor of Balakov, does not rely on Diego León. Thus León moved in December 2007 to England, to Barnsley FC, where he signed a two-year contract.

UD Las Palmas Leon then committed for the 2009/10 season. After the season, he was without a club for half a year.

From the second half of 2010/11 played Diego León for Wacker Burghausen, where he received a contract until the end of the season. On 26 June 2011 he wrote in Croatia with Hajduk Split. He left the club in August 2011, but without a mandatory bet and joined the newly promoted Nea Salamis Famagusta in the Cypriot first division.

In summer 2012, he joined the Greek first division AO Kerkyra, where he signed a two-year contract until the end of June 2014.

National team career

Diego Leon played for both the U -16, as well as for the U -17 national team of Spain. With the U-16, he participated in the U-16 European Football Championships 2001 in England, and became European Champion. In the U-17 World Cup in 2001 when he came Vorrundenaus in all three group games used.
