Diego Salazar

Diego Fernando Salazar Quintero ( born October 3, 1980 in Tuluá (Valle del Cauca ) ) is a Colombian weightlifter.

Sports career

His first success came Salazar in 1999 when he finished second in the class brought in the Pan American Games in Winnipeg to 56 kilograms. He mastered then 255 kg. His recent successes include the achieved during the 2006 bronze medal at the World Weightlifting Championships in the class up to 62 kg for which he pushed 295 kg and his first place finish at the Pan American Games in 2007 in Rio de Janeiro, for which he brought 290 kg in the amount.

Olympic games

During his first part in the Olympics in Athens in 2004, he had to withdraw due to injury from the games. Four years later at the Beijing Games, he succeeded by lifting 305 kg silver medals to gain. This was the first medal for Colombia in these games and a total of ten Colombian teams at the Olympics.
