Dieter Glemser

Dieter Glemser ( born June 28, 1938 in Stuttgart ) is a former German race car driver, who was active both in touring car races and rallies and at the 24- hour race at Le Mans. With various touring car he was European champion and two-time German Motor Racing Championship. Before and even during his racing career Glemser worked as a gardener in his parents'.

Career

His career began in the early 1960s, at the beginning he drove a Porsche 356 in 1963, he won the Polish Rally in a Mercedes -Benz 220SE. In 1966 he was Porsche works driver in the 906 type in the first half of the 1970s he drove a lot of success for the Ford brand. After a serious accident due to a tire failure when touring car race at Macau in November 1974, in which several spectators were injured, Glemser ended his career.
