Dietisalvi di Speme

Dietisalvi di speme (also Diotisalvi di speme ) was an Italian painter who belonged to the school of Siena.

Life

He appeared in the 13th century in and around Siena. The period of his artistic creativity falls in the years 1250-1291 in a document. From January 18, 1289 he is listed as Dietisalvi pictori olim speme. In Thieme -Becker mentions the possibility that he was a neighbor of Duccio di Buoninsegna, and perhaps also his teacher.
