Dietmar Kühbauer

Dietmar " Didi " Kühbauer ( born April 4, 1971 in Heiligenkreuz, Burgenland ) is a former Austrian football player and current coach. Since the beginning of September 2013, is the Austrian Bundesliga Wolfberger AC under contract.

Career

Player

Born in Burgenland has already celebrated 16 years as a player of Admira Wacker his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga. In 1992, the then team manager Ernst Happel called him for the first time in the Austrian national team, in the summer of the same year, he moved from the southern city to Hütteldorf for SK Rapid Wien.

Although the club until 1994 was in deep financial trouble and was sporting only moderately successful, Kühbauer was permanently in the cadre of OFB selection. In Rapid a group formed around the young players made ​​for a good atmosphere and 1994/95 sports for very pleasing performance. The result was the Austrian Cup victory. In the summer of 1995 undertook Rapid OFB team player Peter Stoeger. With this, Andreas Heraf, Stephan Marasek, Zoran Barisic one made the best midfield in the league. The result was winning the Austrian Championship, internationally managed to the entry into the European Cup final of the Cup Winners' Cup.

1996/97 he played his best season for the Green / White, due to many Undiszipliniertheiten it was not enough, however, for the championship title. In February 1997, he suffered his biggest and most painful blow of fate - his pregnant wife Michaela had an accident on the way to the airport ( she wanted her husband to pick up from training camp ) in a traffic accident hard and died after half a year in a coma lying on the consequences. Kühbauer had to make a fresh start and moved to the Primera Division to Real Sociedad.

A very successful first followed by two more average years, which is why he moved to German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg in the summer of 2000. There he had a happy start and with strong performances and leader mentality, he was for a short time captain of the plant self. The wave of success did not last long, Kühbauer was demoted as a captain, lost his place before finally moving in the summer of 2002 in the second Austrian Bundesliga for his hometown club SV Mattersburg. There followed in the very first season of promotion to the top division. After a few years in the middle of the league is managed by reaching the OFB - Cupfinales first time in 2006 an international launch site and in the autumn 2006 season the very good second place in the standings in the league.

After the 2007/ 08 season Kühbauer announced his retirement from professional football. In summer 2012 Kühbauer played back at unterklassigen SV Rohrbrunn football.

Coach

In December 2008, after he received the Coach -A license, he took his first coaching position at the Admiralty amateurs. In April 2010 he was promoted to head coach of Admira Wacker Mödling after Walter Schachner was fired prematurely.

In his first season as Admira coach Kühbauer took place with a very young team much reduced budget and a successful start in his first full trainer season, he on 24 May 2011 with the championship title and the associated rise of Admira in the Austrian Bundesliga could finish. He is also the first coach of Milan Admira since Miklavic in the 1999/2000 season, which survived a full season on the Admira dugout.
