The Digital Imaging Technician ( DIT short ) is a professional in the film industry.

Activities

This independently operating and specialized technicians is an advisor to the camera department. It supports the camera crew in their technical and creative work with the electronic camera. He also works in the preparation and during the rotation time and is thus a link between the post and the location.

Requirements

A DIT should have knowledge about the processes of film and television production and of the usual cameras, storage media and its possibilities. Knowledge of video and digital technology, measurement technology ( waveform monitor, vectorscope, histogram ) and camera- related tools for quality control must be present. Also Basics of light reduction, optics and filter customer, color theory and technical exposure should have been learned or experienced.
