EarlyBird 1 was a commercial satellite company Earthwatch for Earth observation. It should be high -resolution (3 m) take pictures of the earth's surface.

EarlyBird was successfully launched on December 24, 1997 with a start -1 rocket from Svobodny in Russia. Four days later, the satellite failed due to problems with the power supply its service. As the successor satellite Quickbird were built 1 and 2.
