Dihydroxyacetone phosphate ( DHAP ) is a chemical compound that is formed as an intermediate product of the glycolysis. It is, along with glyceraldehyde -3-phosphate, one of the most important triose phosphates. In the 5th step of glycolysis DHAP produced 96%, G3P to 4%. Thus DHAP regulates the release of G3P for the energy recovery phase of glycolysis.
