Dikeos (Greek Δίκαιος ( m. sg. ) ) Is since 2011 a district on the Greek island of Kos. The name derives from the same mountain range. With the administrative reform in 2010 on 1 January 2011 the municipalities of the Island were merged to the municipality of Kos. Seat of local government was the 3387 inhabitants ( 2011) scoring small town Zipari. Since then Dikeos here forms one of three municipal districts.

Location

With 62.575 km ² Dikeos is the smallest of the three municipal districts in Kos. From the fertile coastal plain with the places Tigaki and Marmari in the north the land rises slowly. The highest elevation of 846 m is reached at the mountain range of Dikeos ( Δίκαιος ) in the south. The mountain range crosses the island from east to west and then falls on the south side relatively steeply into the sea. Neighboring districts are community to the east and to the west Iraklides Kos.

Administrative divisions

The municipality Dikeos is divided into two municipalities with eight villages.
