Dinand Woesthoff

Dinand Woesthoff ( born September 6, 1972 in Gorinchem; actually Marco Frank Ferdinand Woesthoff ) is a Dutch Pop-/Rocksänger. He became known as the singer of the band Kane.

Career

Woesthoff was born as the son of his coming from Indonesia father and Dutch mother. He grew up in the small town of Gorinchem. As a student he came to The Hague, where he has lived ever since. In 1998 he founded together with guitarist Dennis van Leeuwen, the band Kane. Already the first single of the two musicians reached the Dutch charts. Their debut album, As Long As You Want This remained in their home 97 weeks in the charts and was awarded double platinum. Since then, three further successful studio albums.

Once in June 2003 their son Dean Maddy had been born, married Woesthoff on 17 September 2003 in Las Vegas, the Dutch actress Guusje Nederhorst. Four and a half months after the marriage Nederhorst died on 29 January 2004 from the effects of breast cancer.

Woesthoff processed the death of his wife in the song Dreamer ( Gussie 's Song ). Shortly after the release as a single, he rose in late February 2004, a No. 1 on the Dutch charts and stayed there for two weeks. The ballad this year was the biggest selling single in the Netherlands. All proceeds from the sale in the amount of 273,000 euros went to the Dutch Cancer Society KWF organization.

On December 16, 2006 we Dinands second son Jimi Frank to the world.

In 2014 he recorded the song Legendary Lane for the Olympic Games in Sochi. Almost to the day exactly 10 years after he had thus Dreamer his second chart entry in the Dutch Top 40
